Meet the Cordova Twins

The Cordova Twins:

Jordan (pronounced JOR-den, in Biblical & English derived from (yarad) meaning "descend" or "flow down". It is also the name of the river which flows between the countries of Jordan and Israel where Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist).

Jacob (pronounced JAY-kep, in English and Biblical means "holder of the heel" or "supplanter", and (Ya'aqov'el) meaning "may God protect". In the Old Testament, Jacob (later called Israel) was the son of Isaac and Rebecca and the father of the twelve founders of the twelve tribes of Israel. He was born holding his twin brother Esau's heel)

Jacob and Jordan update 4-3-11

Friends, Family, Prayer Warriors,

My apologies for the long time since the last post; things have been crazy at Casa De Cordova part two. There have been many questions from all of our friends, family and local followers of this blog as to how everyone is doing and when will an update to the blog be posted on their progress, and I am happy to report that the twins have been doing great.

To bring everyone to the present, the first thing to mention is the twins' first birthday, which was a big success. The event was at our home, and we were so pleased and thankful for who and how many people were able to celebrate that key day with us.

The party was a cupcake-themed party, and Sheri spent two days baking her heart out to make 100 cupcakes for the babies and the attendees to enjoy. The end result was a very tasteful and very colorful display!

And now the 411 on the babies' individual progress...

Crawling for Jacob is as easy as 1 2 3. When he is on all fours, keep a close eye on him, because you think he might be one place, and in an instant, is somewhere else. He also is very close to walking (yikes!!!!). If he paces himself, he can make it all the way across the room. If he gets too excited (which happens a lot) he will lose his balance and fall on his rear, but he's right back up to try again. He still has to work on getting up on his own though; right now he uses anyone and anything to get on his feet. Once he has that mastered, all bets are off. Jacob also is sporting a decent head of hair; very thin, but getting thicker and longer each day. And, he has three teeth now (two on bottom, and cutting one on top). He is still working on his talking (ma-ma is still his favorite word), but that will develop with time.

Jordan's hair keeps getting longer and more and more curly. I'm still holding on to the prayer that her hair will be long and flowing (and manageable) when she gets older; for now we have donned her "Curly Sue"

Jordan's babilings continue to improve with each passing day, and we feel that she gets closer each day to forming complete sentences. Her words are mostly baby talk, but as we continue to talk to her and she observes the world around her, you can see the wheels in her head clicking. Her favorite word is still "da da" though. And, like her brother, she has two bottom teeth, and is cutting two on the top. Jordan is also pulling up to a standing position very well. She still has some development to work through on walking, but that will come with time.

Jordan has also formed the habit of going to the front window and looking for her daddy. Another one of my favorite things she does (shhhh ;-) )

We hope everyone is having a great year in 2011! Please pray for continued success for all!

Thank you for all of your love, prayers and thoughts! More progress reports as soon as I can spare another minute! May the good Lord bless and protect us all.

Kind regards,

The Cordova Family (Andy, Sheri, Jacob & Jordan)
