Jacob & Jordan Update 3-21-10

Family, Friends, Prayer Warriors,

In addition to the diuretics that Jordan is now getting on a daily basis, she is now getting Potassium 4 times a day to countermand the loss of natural potassium her body would produce, which is a result of her more frequent urination's.

It seemed to be a good day for Jordan. Her chest X-ray results came back and indicated that there was no unusual build-up of fluid on her lungs. She has also re-reached the 4 lb. marker today, so we can chalk up the weight loss yesterday to a good expelling of unnecessary fluids. To correct the statement I made yesterday, the Echo Cardiogram and chest X-ray is scheduled in two weeks to see the actual results and next steps.


Jordan's official report for today is:
4 lbs. 0 oz
21% Room Air, with 2 Liter flow nasal cannula
33 CC's fortified milk
1 dirty diaper
5 wet diapers
0 brady episodes
2 desat
0 CC residuals
daily dose Lasix diuretics

Also, yesterday I mentioned that Jacob has a hernia in his lower right quadrant, and as a result, his left testicle is starting to swell. The kind of hernia he has, which I found out from the doctors today is "inguinal hernia", (pronounced in guiy nel), which is common to preemie boys, is reducible. He still is not in any pain.

25% FIO2 on the nasal cannula, with 1 liter flow
29 CC's of fortified milk

6 wet diapers
0 CC's residuals
