Meet the Cordova Twins

The Cordova Twins:

Jordan (pronounced JOR-den, in Biblical & English derived from (yarad) meaning "descend" or "flow down". It is also the name of the river which flows between the countries of Jordan and Israel where Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist).

Jacob (pronounced JAY-kep, in English and Biblical means "holder of the heel" or "supplanter", and (Ya'aqov'el) meaning "may God protect". In the Old Testament, Jacob (later called Israel) was the son of Isaac and Rebecca and the father of the twelve founders of the twelve tribes of Israel. He was born holding his twin brother Esau's heel)

Jacob & Jordan Update 3-28-10

Family, Friends, Prayer Warriors,

This weekend was a quiet one for the Cordova Family, with both of us observing, holding, bonding and enjoying being with the twins.

Jacob's official report for the day:

35 CC's of 24 calorie fortified milk
2 dirty diaper
4 wet diapers
0 CC's residuals

Jordan's official report for the day:
4 lbs. 5 oz
21% Room Air, with .5 Liter flow nasal cannula
35 CC's of 27 calorie fortified milk
3 dirty diaper (a nice change for her given the Lasix she has been on)
4 wet diapers
0 brady episodes
1 desat
0 CC residuals
daily dose Lasix diuretics
4 times a day of Potassium

Request to Prayer Warriors:

Sheri received information tonight that one of the twins' previous podmates from Giraffe A (before we were moved to Sheep A), a little girl, was given the preliminary prognosis of NEC (Necrotizing Enteriocolitis; if you recall, Jacob dealt with this a while back). According to the explanation provided by the parents, the little girl had bubbles in her stomach and her doctors had pulled her feeds for a week, put her on heavy doses of antibiotics and were running tests with results coming tomorrow. Please pray that this is a mild and overcomeable case of NEC for this tiny miracle, and she will come through and beyond with flying colors.

More as it develops! Thank you for all of your love, prayers and thoughts! More progress reports soon!

Kind regards,

The Cordova Family (Andy, Sheri, Jacob & Jordan)
